Final Course Reflection

Final Course Reflection

Q Final Course Reflection Prompt Your final reflection must be a minimum of 2 pages, double-spaced, 12-pt font. This is a minimum length requirement - you may write more but not less. This is a reflective essay addressing our class objectives (the course competencies listed in the syllabus and the goals you set for yourself at the start of the semester). It requires no outside research or additional sources, however, you should think carefully about the length requirements, the professionalism of your tone, grammar, and the organization of your content. What should this reflection contain? On the first day of class, you signed a syllabus grading contract. In that contract, I asked you all to tell me what you think your strengths were as a writer, what obstacles might complicate your success in the class, and what resources you would use to combat those obstacles. I also asked you to list 3 personal goals for the semester and what you would do to ensure you achieved them. This is your chance to reflect on the things you wrote in your contract and what you have learned during our time together. In your reflection, take on one or more of the topics we have tackled in class (think back to our conversations about (target) audiences, rhetorical appeals, citations, etc.,) and evaluate your personal progress. Identify examples of class activities and writing assignments that contributed to your experience. I’m asking you to make solid connections between the goals we set out to take on together, the activities and writing assignments you’ve completed, and your personal goals for the course. Your reflection may include comments on class exercises or homework assignments you found particularly interesting and helpful in accomplishing the intentions you set for yourself. Additionally, you may comment on any aspects of the course that you think I handled successfully as a professor, as well as anything you think could be done differently in future semesters, though the bulk of your reflection should be about you, your goals, and your progress. Now that we’ve reached the end of the class, you should have much to say about where you were when you began and where you find yourself now. To properly compose this reflection I recommend you revisit the original grading contract that you signed, as well as any assignments that you think speak to your growth throughout the semester. Below you’ll find a few considerations to get you started. Keep in mind that these are just examples of possible questions you might ask yourself. By now you should be able to formulate your own thorough, self-reflective inquiries about your experience. -Have I learned how to identify/compose a strong rhetorical argument? -Have I learned how to identify a target audience? -Have I accomplished my personal goal for this course? -What have I learned through the process of creating my proposal, bibliography, and final project? Please Note: This reflection is a part of your required package for your final project to be considered complete. Please see your Final Project Assignment prompt for more details. PreviousNext

I decided to pick this certain project because not only to educate high schoolers the importance of building credit and how it can affect you financially as well at a young age but to also educate money management. I wish back in my years in I high school I was taught more the importance of finances, and have my parents talk to me more about money management. I believe it would have saved me a lot from debt and probably have a house at a younger age. Study found that 36% of surveyed college students already had over $1,000 in credit card debt. Most students tend to think credit cards as extra money in their pockets and that’s how most students begin falling into debt, lack of knowledge investments, not able to purchase a home for first time homeowners due to low credit and debt and many more examples.
